Applying for a Vietnamese visa for foreigners is not difficult, but if you want to apply for a visa easily and successfully, you need to know the required documents and how to apply.

Documents required for obtaining a Vietnam visa for Australian citizens

At diplomatic offices (Vietnam embassy and consulates)

Visa for travel purpose

  • The original passport has at least 1 blank page and has a minimum period of 30 days from the date of entry into Vietnam.
  • The visa application form.
  • 1 photo (4×6 cm).
  • The copy of the first sheet and the last sheet of the passport.
  • The round trip ticket or flight ticket to a third country.
  • The account statement in at least 3 months with the acceptable balance of VND50,000,000.

Visa to visit relatives

  • The original passport has at least 1 blank page and has a minimum period of 30 days from the date of entry into Vietnam.
  • The visa application form
  • 1 photo (4×6 cm)
  • The copy of the first sheet and the last sheet of the passport
  • The invitation letter from relatives in Vietnam.
  • The account statement in at least 3 months with the acceptable balance of VND50,000,000.

Work visa

  • The original passport has at least 1 blank page and has a minimum period of 30 days from the date of entry into Vietnam.
  • The visa application form
  • 1 photo (4×6 cm)
  • The copy of the first sheet and the last sheet of the passport
  • The round trip ticket or flight ticket to a third country
  • The account statement at least 3 months with the acceptable balance of VND 50,000,000
  • The approval letter from Vietnam Immigration Department

Note: The documents may be added if required by the diplomatic agency.

After preparing all the above documents, you bring them to Vietnam embassy/consulate in Australia and wait for the result.
